Northwest PA Veterans Leading in Trade | February 22 | Recap

The International Marketing team hosted the 'Northwest PA Veterans Leading in Trade' Export Roundtable on February 22 in Meadville.

Partnering with the U.S. Commercial Service in Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania's Office of International Business Development, the Northwest Commission welcomed guest speaker, Nate Wheeler, a Marine Veteran and owner of weCreate Web Design & Marketing. He shared with fellow veterans how to use digital resources to organically generate leads, domestically and internationally.

Please keep an eye out for our next veteran program. It's a great opportunity to hear what export assistance resources are available to Veteran-owned businesses and meet with like-minded individuals who served their country and are now leading in industry.

Ohio-Pennsylvania Stateline Export Initiative (OPEI)

The goal of the OPEI is to improve the overall economic environment within the 23-county region of Ohio and Pennsylvania.

In Ohio, counties that are represented include: Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Geauga, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Trumbull, and Tuscarawas; inOPEI Pennsylvania, the counties include: Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, and Warren.

Working with government, academic, and business leaders, the initiative aims to increase the number of exporting companies by utilizing regional synergies in industry and building strength in trade clusters.

The OPEI Advisory Committee meets every four months to discuss initiatives in support of export trade.

OPEI is always looking to increase the number of manufacturing companies active and experienced in exporting to serve on the committee.
