Please share your voice to help move Appalachia forward!
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is seeking input from community members across Appalachia as it develops a new strategic plan to guide its economic and community development efforts in the Region in the coming years. Gathering stakeholders’ input on issues, challenges, and opportunities in their Appalachian communities is a key step in identifying ARC’s goals and development roles in the Region. This information will serve as the basis for a strategic plan that will help strengthen economic opportunities for citizens and communities in Appalachia. We invite you to participate in ARC’s strategic planning process in one or both of two ways: attending a listening session and completing an online survey.

Listening Sessions: In May and June 2015, ARC will hold a series of listening sessions in five Appalachian states to hear from citizens, local leaders, and representatives of private, public, and nonprofit organizations about issues and opportunities in their communities. There is no cost to attend the sessions, but registration is required. You may register for whichever session is most convenient for you. Session dates and locations are:

Forest City, North Carolina: Friday, May 15 Starkville, Mississippi: Thursday, May 21 Morehead, Kentucky: Thursday, June 4 Altoona, Pennsylvania: Thursday, June 11 Morgantown, West Virginia: Tuesday, June 16

For more information and to register, visit Space is limited; we encourage you to register soon.

Online Survey: ARC is conducting an online survey through June 19 to gather input from a broad range of community members throughout the Region. We welcome you to share the survey link with others you know who may want to participate. The survey should take 10 minutes or less to complete. Your ideas and insights are an important element in this process. We hope you will take this opportunity to share your ideas for moving Appalachia forward!
